The Radio Reading Service comes from two principle locations both under the supervision of Steve Jepson ,   Technical Services Manager.

 

The Studio complex is located on the First Floor, Levin Shopping Mall and linked by UHF to our Transmission site South of Levin.

Radio Reading Service is not just a local station, it is nationally oriented with a commitment New Zealand wide. Whilst 2XA 1602 kHz medium wave broadcasts locally to the Horowhenua area, ZLXA on shortwave 3935 kHz. plus local LPFM 107.3  

The transmitters on 1602 kHz MW-AM are a Blyth" 2.5 kw, and "Harris MW1" - 1 kw as a stand by. On Domestic Short wave at 3935 kHz the transmitter is a "Bauer 701b (HF)" 1 kw, feeding a Half Wave Sloper facing NE - SW. The 1602 kHz tower is a 44 Metre "Blaw-Knox" structure with radials.
